No Horse Ownership Required
We’re proud to be one of the few programs that allows students to ride and learn without the commitment of leasing or owning a horse. Our doors are open to riders ages 2 and up, whether you’re joining us for friendship and connection, building trail confidence, or training for competition.
From young equestrians just starting out to experienced riders chasing competitive dreams, we meet you where you are. Everyday horse owners are also welcome to expand their horsemanship knowledge in a supportive, hands-on environment.

Getting Started is Easy
We invite all new riders to start with an introductory lesson—no long-term commitment required. This gives you a chance to meet our team, tour the facility, and experience our teaching style. It also allows our instructors to evaluate the best starting point for your journey.
We offer both private and group lessons, depending on your goals and learning preferences. Each instructor follows a structured curriculum, creating weekly lesson plans that promote steady progress. Our staff is held to high standards, continuing their education both in and out of the ring.
Showing Opportunities (Optional)
Showing is never required to be a part of our program—but for those who wish to compete, we offer several opportunities.
Riders can participate in monthly local schooling shows to fine-tune their skills and receive feedback from experienced judges. We also attend clinics at these shows when available, helping our riders continue to grow within the larger equestrian community.
For more advanced riders, we offer the chance to travel and compete in statewide and out-of-state show circuits. These programs require a higher level of dedication, including leasing or ownership, and involve rigorous training to build a strong, competitive horse-and-rider partnership.
The Right Trainer & The Right Horse
At J and S Performance Horses, we believe that the right match between rider and trainer is essential. With several experienced trainers on staff, you’ll have the opportunity to choose someone who suits your learning style and helps you build a strong foundation in your riding journey.
Our diverse, well-trained lesson horse string provides a safe and educational experience that mirrors the feel of horse ownership. As riders progress, they have the opportunity to move up through our roster—gaining confidence and learning from a variety of equine personalities and styles.

Exceptional Horse Care
We proudly prioritize quality over quantity. Our intentionally limited program ensures that each horse and rider receive the attention they deserve.
Our horses enjoy top-tier care, including:
Customized diets from a professional equine nutritionist
Premium hay and feed
Comfortable and safe living accommodations
Year-round veterinary, dental, farrier, and chiropractic care
Each horse is also assigned its own properly fitted tack, which is cleaned and maintained regularly. This system supports both safety and consistency, creating a reliable and positive learning environment for every rider.
Ride With Confidence
No matter where you choose to take lessons, it’s important to protect your best interests by being informed. When selecting an equestrian program, always consider the following:
- Quality of horse care
- Safety and condition of equipment
- Clean, well-maintained facilities
- Safe and appropriate riding environments
- Instructor experience and qualifications
- Program insurance and credentials
At J & S Performance Horses, the health and well-being of our horses—and the safety of our riders—are our top priorities. These values are the foundation of the high-quality instruction we proudly provide.
Our Commitment to You
At J & S Performance Horses, we are dedicated to providing an environment that is free of personal conflict, rooted in integrity, and focused on your goals. Our promise is to train with professionalism, eliminate unnecessary stress, and guide each rider toward success with realistic expectations and no excuses.
We are a judgment-free zone, and we welcome riders of all backgrounds and experience levels. In return, we ask for mutual respect from clients of all ages. We uphold policies and practices that reflect our values—ensuring a positive, supportive, and committed community for everyone on our team.
