At The Adaptive Riding Program, Inc. every stride taken—whether on the ground or in the saddle—represents courage, growth, and healing. Our mission is to make adaptive horsemanship and riding accessible, safe, and empowering for individuals of all abilities. Now, we’re taking another step forward—and we need your help.
To grow our impact and serve more riders across Clay County and surrounding communities, we’ve launched a four-phase initiative — Another Step Forward — to enhance safety, accessibility, and sustainability at our facility.

To grow our impact and serve more riders across Clay County and surrounding communities, we’ve launched a four-phase initiative — Another Step Forward — to enhance safety, accessibility, and sustainability at our facility.
Phase 1 – Infrastructure & Safety Prep
Goal: $8,250
Timeline: April - October 2025Focus: Tack room updates, emergency plan, tree work, storage containers removal, manure pit upgrades, and hay barn/storage built.Purpose: Build a safe and organized environment for horses, riders, and volunteers.Impact: Strengthens the foundation for all future program growth.
Phase 2 – Classroom & Layout
Goal: $31,900
Timeline: November - December 2025Focus: New classroom building, updated entrance, fence relocation, and well installation.Purpose: Create a dedicated educational space for unmounted adaptive horsemanship.Impact: Expands our ability to host lessons, workshops, and volunteer training year-round.
Phase 3 – Arena & Accessibility
Goal: $74,500
Timeline: January - December 2026Focus: Covered arena, arena footing, accessible pathways, gates, fencing, and mounting ramp.Purpose: Provide a weather-safe and ADA-friendly riding environment.Impact: Enables riders of all abilities to learn and grow in a consistent, inclusive space.
Phase 4 – Equipment & Expansion
Goal: $91,500
Timeline: January - December 2027
Focus: Truck, tractor, and drag with water tank.
Purpose: Improve operational efficiency and expand outreach capacity.
Impact: Ensures long-term sustainability for our growing community programs.
These phases of growth are more than just a new structure, specifically this covered arena represents:
Safety: Offering protection from the elements for our clients, many of whom have medical conditions that make weather exposure risky.
Stability: Creating consistent opportunities for learning and therapeutic progress, without weather interruptions.
Growth: Expanding the reach and impact of our program, allowing us to serve more individuals, families, and communities.
Wellbeing: Supporting the physical and emotional needs of both riders and our incredible equine partners.
